Monks vote to share governance via mixed board

New model to take effect on March 31, 2009

The monastic chapter of Saint Anselm Abbey voted Tuesday morning to adopt new bylaws that will implement a system of shared governance for Saint Anselm College beginning on March 31, 2009, Fr. Jonathan DeFelice, O.S.B., president of the college, announced within hours of the decision.

Starting this semester, Maura Marshall is the new head of Health Services at Saint Anselm College. Mrs. Marshall, a native of Marshfield, Massachusetts now residing in Stratford New Hampshire, filled Connie Richard's former position starting on January 12th, 2009.

New printing system raises concern among students

With the start of the new semester come new changes around campus. One of the changes most noticeable is the new printer system implemented in the Academic Resource Center and Library. There has been much discussion revolving around this change. One of the major questions being posed by students is "Are we actually paying for printing?" According to Jacques Plante, the Customer Service Manager in the Office of Information Technology, students are not actually paying money this semester.

The Pedagogy Group: College professors thinking, talking about the art of teaching

As a testament to Saint Anselm's dedication to providing a vast, current and effective education to its students, the hardworking professors of the college have come together and formed "The Pedagogy Group." Established by Associate Professor Beth Salerno of the history department in the fall of 2005, the purpose of the organization is to provide an environment, which invite conversation between professors regarding teaching methods, current research, and reasons why professors teach in the first place.

Batten down the hatches and grab some sandbags: the floodgates have opened. Well at least, the pipes have burst. In addition to making the walk up the Hilltop quite uncomfortable, the brutally cold weather of the past few weeks has wreaked havoc with the heating systems in many buildings here at Saint Anselm.
